Cloud Computing Standardization Journey Accelerates New Business Opportunity in Mainland and Hong Kong
Being one of the seven strategic emerging industries in Mainland China and a mainstream IT development, cloud computing will be playing a critical role in shaping the country’s industrial upgrade and economic restructure. The development of concrete industry standardization is, however, still in its infancy, and there is still much to be desired.
Addressing the needs for common framework and platforms in line with international standards can facilitate cloud computing’s healthy, rapid, and orderly development. Unified standards and holistic regulations will allow industry players to interconnect, integrate, and enhance their products, services or applications with cost effective solutions, and place them at the forefront of competition. With the stunning size of the potential opportunities, all eyes are now on Mainland China’s development of cloud computing standardization and regulations.
Just last year, the Central Computer Centre of the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer of the HKSAR (OGCIO) was awarded the ISO 20000 certification, in recognition of its world-class data management and operations. The certification opens up the door to a new era of cloud-based electronic businesses and provides valuable reference for Mainland experts and developers with enhancement in promoting standardization integration.
Cyberport, together with OGCIO, is therefore taking the lead to organize the “Next Generation Information Technology and Standard Symposium” for industry professionals to learn and to exchange ideas. This one-day event brings together renowned leaders, enterprises, experts and academia from a number of cloud base Mainland cities under one roof, including the national cloud computing service innovation and development pilot cities Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, together with Hong Kong and Guangdong.
Speakers will share their valuable experiences on cloud computing standardization with insightful analysis on hot topics such as overall planning, key technologies, applications and security governance. What’s more, two panel discussions titled “Information Infrastructure” and “Cloud Computing and Mobile Cloud’s Technology & Standardization” will also be staged for industry practitioners from Mainland and Hong Kong to discuss implementation strategies, share best practices with interaction and collaboration in the arena of cloud computing ecosystem.
Simultaneous interpretation will be available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
